The Association were proud to attend the National Ambulance Memorial Service on 17th September, recognising those in the sector who are no longer with us.

In a moving and poignant event, Celebrant Kathryn Smith highlighted the reach NHS, independent and voluntary ambulance providers have:

“We thank and recognize those providing ambulance services for patients being taken for appointments or treatments such as dialysis – some 12 million NHS patient journeys every year.

These staff are often the only contact many of these patients have and are a welcome sight.

We recognise those staff providing high dependency trans

fers for patients who are seriously ill or injured, from young babies and infants to more complex cases where specialist care is required.

And to those providing secure transport for patients, and re-patriations, where the journeys can be long and challenging, with the care and support provided essential for the well-being of the patient.

We thank them.”
