IAA forms CQC Guidance Task Group

At their recent Board meeting, IAA Directors agreed to form a CQC Guidance Task Group to develop guidance for Member companies in preparing for and managing CQC inspections. The Group will be Co-Chaired by IAA Director Andy King and Claire Olohan-Bramley (CQC Registered Manager with BEARS).

The first meeting of the Group will be 29th November and will focus on areas such as infection control, management of drugs, safeguarding and governance.

Commenting, Alan Howson (Executive Chairman) said “This is a significant piece of work that will improve consistency of approach by Member companies¬†and I have no doubt will raise standards still further in the sector. We intend sharing the guidance with colleagues in the CQC as part of our regular engagement – all parties are committed to quality and with Ratings due to be introduced to the independent¬†ambulance sector in the near future, I’m sure this work will go some way to informing how these will be applied.”

Task Group Co-Chair Andy King commented “I’m really looking forward to working with Claire and colleagues from other Member companies. Having recently passed our CQC Inspection I know how useful it would have been to have had reference points and examples of best practice to work to.”
